NCAA Football - BCS Championship Game: Final Result
Alabama's D embarrasses LSU as five FGs, late TD seal national title
The Alabama defense took no chances in the rematch.
When Jordan Jefferson dropped back to pass, he was swept under by a tide of crimson. When the LSU quarterback took off running, he must've felt like Alabama had a few extra players on the field.
Courtney Upshaw, Dont'a Hightower and Co. sure made it seem that way.
With a smothering display of old-school football, the No. 2 Crimson Tide blew out the top-ranked Tigers 21-0 in the Allstate BCS Championship Game Monday night. @ espn.com

NCAA Football - BCS Championship Game
We are 1 hour away from the most wanted game of the NCAA football season: The BCS Championship Game. Everyone expect a big tight game with lot of excitement, but with low points because of the big defenses of both teams. I'm more a LSU fan so I would like them to win to end a perfect season.

Brendan Gibbons' OT FG boots Michigan past Va. Tech, to Sugar Bowl title
"Here's another tradition that Brady Hoke has restored at Michigan: Winning.
The coach who grew up in Ohio but revered the Wolverines since childhood ended his first season in charge holding up the silver Allstate Sugar Bowl trophy amid fluttering maize and blue confetti. The Michigan band provided the soundtrack for the raucous celebration: the school's familiar fight song.
Brendan Gibbons drilled a 37-yard field goal down the middle in overtime, lifting No. 13 Michigan to a 23-20 victory over Virginia Tech (No. 11 BCS, No. 17 AP) at the Mercedes Benz Superdome on Tuesday night.
The victory capped an impressive debut season for Hoke, who has led the Wolverines (11-2) back to prominence with a BCS bowl victory. In his usual style, he also deflected the credit from himself onto the senior leaders of "Team 132," as he calls the squad with a nod to the number of teams the historic football program has fielded." @ espn.com

Oregon outruns Wisconsin to win highest-scoring Rose Bowl ever
"The Oregon Ducks had waited 95 years to win another Rose Bowl presented by Vizio, and the last few seconds stretched for an eternity. The players in mirrored helmets held each other back on the sideline, waiting on tiptoes for video review to confirm Wisconsin was out of time.
The call went Oregon's way. The Ducks stormed the hallowed field.
The most futuristic team in college football had buried another bit of history, and that revolutionary offense finally has a shiny trophy that will look right at home among those eye-catching uniforms.
Darron Thomas passed for three touchdowns, De'Anthony Thomas scored on runs of 91 and 64 yards, and the Ducks (No. 5 BCS, No. 6 AP) earned their first bowl victory under coach Chip Kelly, holding off the Badgers 45-38 Monday night in the highest-scoring Rose Bowl ever played." @ espn.com
